Till then!
Just in case anyone is still checking in, expecting to see me posting updates here regularly, I don't plan to continue posting every day, now that my Buxton 2005 experience is complete. I'll post here when I have something to say that seems noteworthy and has to do with G&S. I'll continue to review shows and write about my projects when that comes up. I'll also post about Buxton 2006 when that time comes: hopefully I'll be posting to say that I'm on my way!
Thanks for following my trip, everyone. (Almost everyone.) It's been fun.

Can you post anything you *do* know about Buxton 2006 - ie who is going and with what?
I know very little at this point. Houston is not going. Savoynet will be there, but we don't know what show it is yet. (An intelligent guess seems to be Ida.) The Young Artistes will do another production, but we don't know what it is yet. That's all I've got at present.
Thanks for sharing - I thought you posted earlier that Houston WAS going with Pinafore/Trial - or maybe I read that on Savoynet.
Anyone else out there have an idea what the stalwart companies are bringing?
Houston will perform Pinafore/Trial next year, but only in Houston. Sorry I don't have more information to give. I'll post more as I learn it.
SavoyNet has not done Ida, Pinafore, Mikado, Gondoliers or Grand Duke yet, so it is likey to be one of those. SavoyNet is likely to resist the last two, so I believe it will be one of those first three, and I think it will entirely depend on what the Smiths need most at that point in order to fill out the Festival schedule. Since SavoyNet is flexible, the Smiths can basically ask us to fill the gap.
Thanks for the best Buxton diary I think I have ever read, Jonathan.
Sam
The one thing I think I can say with certainty as a recently-gone-professional performer is that I can learn from others when I cannot find the path on my own.
I'm not sure if I've told you so in depth, Jonathan, but your insight, considerable intellect, and admirable grasp of the physical act of performing as a singer and actor have been lights on the road thus far. You're brilliant, and this diary has given me insights on the works of Gilbert and Sullivan and on acting in general that I do not think I'd have been able to find otherwise, anywhere.
Never mind what that anonymous bozo said. Let me know if you decide not to blog next year, so that I can personally contact you for your thoughts.
The next best thing to being there was reading your blog. Well done!
